SDI to Sponsor Spring 2015 Supply Chain Leaders Forum

As a recognized leader in MRO supply chain services, SDI is a proud sponsor of the Center for Supply Chain Research, Smeal College of Business, at the Pennsylvania State University. SDI has been committed to finding the best supply chain solutions for our clients for more than four decades. The research we’re sponsoring at Penn State will help us bring more world class services to our clients.

To help further that critical research, SDI is proud to participate in PSU’s March Symposium, bringing together the greatest minds and the newest ideas in supply chain services. Titled Spring 2015 Supply Chain Leaders Forum: Supply Chain Integration and Synchronization, this symposium will address supply chain issues that are critical to the continued success of businesses at all levels.

Our Vice President of Marketing, Communications and Creative, Ms. Debra Yorkman, is serving as guest program director for this event. Under her direction, the panel of guest speakers will discuss some of the most pressing supply chain issues facing today’s businesses including:

  • Aligning Talent
  • Process Collaboration
  • Technology Integration
  • Overcoming Fragmentation
  • Synchronizing end-to-end Supply Chains

Continued success requires businesses to overcome these obstacles, and these presentations and workshops will facilitate innovation for identifying and addressing these issues. The symposium will feature the following research and case studies from leaders in the field of supply chain research:

Proposed Supply Chain Leaders Forum General Sessions

This symposium promises a widespread look at the current and future supply chain ecosystems. These sessions will include presentations of the latest research and case studies related to leading edge supply chain management. A few of the potential topics that are planned to be covered are:

  • End-to-end supply chain management
  • Healthcare supply chain evolution
  • The future of integration and synchronization
  • Various case studies related to successful integration and synchronization projects

Proposed Supply Chain Leaders Symposium Breakout Sessions

A number of breakout sessions will allow interested attendees to discuss topics in greater depth. Many attendees have interests and concerns that are specific to their business or position. These breakout sessions offer an opportunity to better examine general concepts. Some planned breakout topics are:

  • Supply chain ecosystems
  • Internal metric alignment
  • Change management techniques
  • Transportation challenges

The symposium is a first-come, first-served event with limited seating available. The event kicks off on Wednesday, March 4th with a welcoming reception held from 6:30pm to 8:00pm in the Senate Room of the Penn Stater Conference Center. Researchers will present their findings from 8:00am until 5:00pm on Thursday, March 5th followed by a group dinner at 6:30pm. Presentations will resume at 8:00am on Friday, March 6th, with the symposium wrapping up at noon. Click here for more information on this event.
