The Client

A leader in the alcoholic beverage industry (wines, spirits, and beer) with 20 locations in the US and Canada, the client had a supply program in five of its locations – but with less than desired results. They needed an MRO partner with strategic sourcing, procurement, storeroom operations and ongoing savings, along with the capability to put controls in place. The program had to be scalable across the enterprise with flexible models including both manned and unmanned solutions. In addition, they had multiple systems in place, requiring an interface with their SAP system.

The SDI Solution

SDI delivered an enterprise-wide integrated MRO supply solution to all twenty sites. Our scalable program included both manned and unmanned operations. Client sites operating in SAP continued to operate in SAP with an interface to our SDiExchange system. SDI’s system was utilized in all sites currently without SAP or storeroom operations. All purchasing was transacted through SDI’s Central Operations Group using SDiExchange, providing a single technology platform for enterprise visibility and reporting. Our Standard Operating Procedures were customized for use in the manned storeroom operations for consistency.

Results

All twenty sites were successfully on board in less than 12 months with no disruption to business or the continuity of supply. The program’s “steady state” was reached within 90 days and saved the client 35%.
